Ava Raine expressed her dissatisfaction after receiving threats of violence.
Dwayne Johnson, alongside Ava Raine and Cody Rhodes [via- WWE and Bleacher Report on X], made a comeback on SmackDown, causing a chain reaction. With widespread public outrage on social media, Cody Rhodes is currently receiving all the support he needs. However, the most unfortunate aspect of this situation is that Johnson’s daughter is now facing death threats as reports circulate about her father sabotaging Cody’s storyline.
This act is deserving of condemnation. Taking to her X account, Raine shared how some irrational individuals have bombarded her with threats to harm the NXT General Manager. It is truly disheartening to know that The Rock’s daughter is being targeted despite having no involvement in the controversy surrounding her father’s WrestleMania participation. Nevertheless, it seems that WWE has something planned.
According to Dave Meltzer of WON, the company was hoping for Cody Rhodes to become the modern-day Daniel Bryan after last week’s segment. Additionally, he mentioned that Johnson potentially wrestling at was part of the agreement that led to him becoming one of the directors on TKO’s board.
Receiving death threats over a situation I have no connection to… bffr
Despite the increase in public outcry, WWE still intends to present the highly-anticipated dream match in Philadelphia. However, they must exercise extreme caution when handling Cody Rhodes going forward. His direction is being kept secret, and Rhodes finds himself in a difficult position. Just a week ago, Cody won the Royal Rumble match for the second year in a row. And now, he is in a situation where he casually handed Roman Reigns over to his Hollywood cousin.
This week’s Raw was always going to be one of the most eagerly awaited shows in recent memory. After making Cody Rhodes the number one trending topic on X for the past 72 hours, the loyalty of WWE fans was at stake. And they certainly did not disappoint.
There was no discrepancy between the online reaction The Rock has been receiving since snubbing Rhodes and the response from the crowd in the arena. The “WeWantCody” chants were heard loud and clear even before Raw went live.

Not only that, but numerous signs displaying support for Rhodes set the tone. Any mention of SmackDown would be met with heavy boos from the crowd. Several “Rocky Sucks” chants echoed throughout, making some wonder if it was 1996 all over again.
Remember when they said that they don’t think The Rock will get booed? Yeah about that, they chanted Rocky sucks. It’s 2024, not 1999. #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/kAuGqvKW67
Once Cody made his entrance, the St. Louis crowd fully rallied behind him. And finally, urged Rhodes to complete his story rather than considering a challenge from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
