The National Football League (NFL) has officially distanced itself from Bill Belichick.
His downfall was not a pleasant sight, and the fact that he played a significant role in the failure of the New England Patriots may have made teams think twice before considering him for a job.
Nevertheless, many analysts believe that we have not seen the last of Belichick, and the esteemed coach could make a comeback in the league if some teams face a rough season.
Given this situation, NFL analyst Craig Carton suggested that it would not be surprising to see Belichick become the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
During an episode of The Carton Show, Carton expressed that if Mike McDaniel fails to win a playoff game, the Dolphins’ ownership might make a drastic decision, as it has been quite some time since the organization last tasted postseason victory.
“Do not underestimate Miami,” Carton emphasized.
Belichick’s familiarity with the division makes this possibility even more plausible.
It was somewhat unexpected that he did not secure any coaching positions this offseason, considering his impressive track record, despite his mediocre performance without Tom Brady.
As for the Dolphins, there seems to be a general consensus that coach McDaniel is highly regarded. However, in this results-driven industry, another premature end to the season could spell the end of his tenure in South Beach.
