The Super Bowl and the NFL season are in the past, but this league never rests. With the major game already in the history books, we are officially counting down to the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft. The future superstars are preparing to make their mark in the league and kickstart their careers. ESPN insider Field Yates shared his forecast for the top ten picks of the first round on Get Up. Here is a first glimpse at Yates’ prediction for the NFL draft’s top 10 picks.
Notably, he selected Olumuyiwa Fashanu (NYJ – OT), Laiatu Lalu (CHI – EDGE), Dallas Turner (ATL – EDGE), Rome Odunze (TEN – WR), and Malik Nabers (NYG – WR) for picks 10-6.
At number 5, the Los Angeles Chargers are expected to choose Joe Alt from Notre Dame, a highly skilled offensive lineman prospect who can provide protection for Justin Herbert.
As expected, WR Marvin Harrison Jr. is projected to go as high as number 4, becoming Kyler Murray’s preferred target in the passing game, given his impressive performance at Ohio State.
The New England Patriots would then secure their new franchise quarterback, UNC star Drake Maye, who has the potential to start immediately even if Mac Jones remains in the team.
LSU star Jayden Daniels is predicted to be the second pick, joining Kliff Kingsbury’s team and immediately challenging Sam Howell for the starting QB position.
And as anticipated, the Chicago Bears will keep their number 1 pick and select Caleb Williams from USC, a highly anticipated quarterback prospect, comparable to Trevor Lawrence and Andrew Luck.
