The New York Giants made a significant financial investment in Daniel Jones.
He showed promise during his first year under HC Brian Daboll, and there was hope that he could continue to develop and become a player similar to Josh Allen.
However, his new contract has not yielded positive results thus far.
He has regressed significantly from his best season, and the team’s offense has performed better when he has been sidelined with injuries.
Furthermore, it has been reported by NFL insider Pat Leonard that the Giants may have already lost faith in Jones (Via WBG84).
According to Leonard, “I personally do not think that the Giants, privately, have faith in Daniel Jones to be more than what he is.”

Leonard explains that he believes individuals within the Giants organization have little hope for Jones to significantly improve.
He suggests that the team must evaluate whether it is worth making a long-term commitment to him, considering his multiple neck injuries.
The Giants received considerable criticism for the contract they gave him, particularly since it resulted in star RB Saquon Barkley being placed under the franchise tag.
Nevertheless, the structure of the deal allows the Giants multiple opportunities to move on from Jones.
With Jones potentially missing some of the upcoming season, the Giants will have chances to assess their offense with another quarterback.
If things go smoothly in his absence, it would not be surprising if Jones is no longer with the Giants by the end of the season.
