Christian Horner’s alleged misconduct case once again made headlines after an apparent leak of evidence. The ongoing investigation appeared to come to a close when Red Bull absolved Horner of all accusations. However, a new leak from an unidentified source revived the case, putting the team boss back under scrutiny. Despite this, the 50-year-old had previously denied the rumors and opted not to comment further. It’s worth noting that Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father, reportedly had a falling out with Horner in relation to this case.
Jos Verstappen was adamant that he had no involvement in the alleged evidence leak. The former Formula 1 driver even accused Horner of playing the victim. Nevertheless, Verstappen Sr. acknowledged that the investigation had strained their relationship.
Another revelation regarding the matter recently came to light. According to the BBC, FIA president (name omitted) also intervened in the situation, requesting support for Horner. This information was initially reported by De Telegraaf and independently confirmed by the BBC.
Given the sensitivity of the issue, it required careful handling. However, Horner was given permission to continue leading the team into (event name omitted). Furthermore, FIA and F1 held a meeting to discuss the alleged leak. However, Ben Sulayem made it clear that no action would be taken by the sports governing body at this time.
Consequently, Horner will remain as the team principal for Milton Keynes, despite the emergence of new leaked information. The team achieved a resounding victory at the season opener in Bahrain, with Max Verstappen’s dominant performance. Thus, the team continues to achieve impressive results under Horner, despite the ongoing investigation saga surrounding their principal.
Currently, everything appears to be at a standstill regarding the investigation. However, the complete status quo remains uncertain as the entire crew has chosen to remain silent on the matter. With Red Bull refusing to disclose the results of their investigation, fans and those involved in the sport are left suspicious. Nonetheless, after what was described as a “fair and rigorous” investigation, the team has cleared Horner of any suspicions.
