Ford and a number of other car manufacturers have recently announced their plans to modify their electric vehicles (EVs) so that they can utilize Tesla’s Supercharger network for charging. In addition to this, Ford has taken it a step further by announcing that it will offer a complimentary adapter to eligible owners of the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning models.
In a recent statement, Ford confirmed that it will be providing a Fast Charging Adapter to customers who own the aforementioned models. The adapter will allow them to access Tesla’s Supercharger network, and it will be available for free to eligible owners in both the United States and Canada. Ford aims to make this adapter reservation process available to customers in the near future.
Starting from the spring of 2024, Ford vehicles will be granted access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. This means that owners of Ford EVs will be able to charge their vehicles at any Supercharger station. Furthermore, Ford has announced its plans to transition to the NACS charge port by 2025. This transition will eliminate the need for an adapter in order to access Tesla Superchargers, as Ford’s new EVs will be compatible with the NACS charge port.
Overall, these developments highlight Ford’s commitment to expanding the charging options for its EV customers. By providing a complimentary adapter and integrating with Tesla’s Supercharger network, Ford aims to enhance the charging experience and convenience for Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners.
