Former NBA champion and European basketball player Nemanja Bjelica experienced a terrifying incident involving his family and a disturbed individual. As per a report from Sportando, Bjelica and his family were subjected to threats by a man wielding a pair of scissors and making verbal intimidations on February 3rd. This alarming incident took place at a playground in Belgrade.
Reported footage of the incident revealed that the individual threatening Bjelica and his family was former football player Nikola Petkovic. Bjelica has a daughter with his wife.
The ex-football player shouted, “I will harm your family, your children, your wife, and you. I will also take your money.” Fortunately, no one sustained injuries during this confrontation. Petkovic has been apprehended and has been in custody for two days.
Nemanja Bjelica, a 35-year-old Serbian basketball player, made his entry into the NBA in 2010 after being drafted in the second round by the Washington Wizards.
Over the course of 16 years, Bjelica has alternated between the NBA and international basketball. He was honored with the EuroLeague MVP title in 2017. In 2022, Nemanja Bjelica achieved an NBA championship with Steph Curry’s victorious Golden State Warriors. He has played seven seasons in the NBA.
