The February update, known as Update 5, focuses on addressing three main issues: Car Progression, Forza Race Regulations, and Drivatar AI. However, the implementation of the car progression system, which is the first of the three, has been delayed from its initial announcement.
The game designer of Forza Motorsport believed it was necessary to restrict access to the car progression system for low-level players. This meant that players were unable to equip desired parts on their vehicles until they reached a certain Car Level. This decision proved to be a hindrance for players, leading to questions about its initial viability.
Fortunately, all car parts will soon be available for installation at Car Level 1 for every vehicle in the game. Once a vehicle is added to the garage or collection, players can freely upgrade it with various parts, including engine swaps, aspiration changes, race tires, body kits, brakes, suspension, and more.
Additionally, players will have the opportunity to earn Car Points by leveling up their cars or purchasing them with in-game credits. The exchange rate for credits to Car Points is set at 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points, a balance determined based on player feedback.
The development team has also provided examples of the cost to upgrade specific models with all available parts at Level 1. For instance, the 2021 BMW M4 Competition Coupe can be fully upgraded for 125,325 Credits, while the 1969 Nissan Fairlady Z432 will require 133,875 Credits.
Upon reaching Car Level 50, the Showroom brand or manufacturer discount will remain at 5%. Although this may seem insignificant, the cumulative effect of reaching this level with five cars results in a total discount of 25%. It is estimated that it takes between two and three hours to reach Car Level 50.
Unfortunately, the changes to the Car Progression system will not be included in Update 5 but are planned for Update 6 in March. The exact release date for Update 6 has not been communicated by Turn 10 Studios at this time. Players will have to wait for the official announcement before they can experience these changes.
