Fox Corporation has announced a collaboration with media powerhouses Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery to create a new sports streaming platform.
The as-yet-unnamed platform will consolidate sports content from the networks owned by the three companies, including ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, and truTV.
“We are thrilled to bring the FOX Sports portfolio to this innovative and fresh platform,” stated Lachlan Murdoch, Executive Chair and CEO of Fox Corporation, in a press release. “We believe this service will offer dedicated fans beyond the traditional package an impressive range of sports content all in one location.”
The selection of sports on offer will include NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, college sports, UFC, PGA, FIFA World Cup, and other major sporting events.
The new service will have its own dedicated app. Subscribers to ESPN+, Hulu, and Max will also have access to this platform.
Fox Corporation, Disney, and Warner Bros. Discovery will each have an equal one-third ownership stake in this joint venture.
This bundled service will consolidate sports content from Fox Corporation, which owns the FOX broadcasting network and FOX Sports, Disney, which owns ABC and ESPN, and Warner Bros. Discovery, which oversees networks such as TBS and TNT.
