Global eSports caused a major upset at the VCT Pacific 2024, as they defeated BLEED in a surprising turn of events. Riot Games has organized an exciting season of Valorant eSports, with the VCT Pacific 2024 currently underway. Numerous top teams from the Pacific region are competing for a spot in the world championship. The VCT Pacific 2024 Kickoff features 11 teams battling it out for a chance to participate in the VCT Masters Madrid tournament.
Global eSports and Bleed eSports faced off in the elimination match of Group A. Global eSports had a disappointing performance in 2023 but has returned this year with a newly assembled roster. Although they displayed potential, the team still has a long way to go if they want to qualify for VCT Masters Madrid. This match also marked the return of popular Valorant professional player yay, also known as ‘El Diablo’, who joined the team recently. It was his first time playing professional Valorant since June 2023. Bleed eSports was considered the clear favorites, and their fans expected them to easily defeat Global eSports in the elimination match.
These two teams had previously competed against each other in the Skyesports SEA Championship just three months ago, where Bleed eSports emerged victorious with a 2-0 win in a best-of-3 series. Fans anticipated a similar outcome this year as well. However, the underdogs surprised everyone by coming out on top. Global eSports eliminated BLEED with a score of 2-1.
As a result, BLEED eSports has been eliminated from the VCT Pacific 2024, dashing their hopes of qualifying for the VCT Madrid Masters. The organization shared their disappointment on Twitter, acknowledging that they fought hard but it wasn’t their day. They expressed the need to take some time to regroup and gather themselves. Despite the loss, BLEED eSports thanked their supporters for cheering them on during their VCT Pacific Kickoff debut and assured their fans that they will make a comeback in future competitive tournaments.
