PGA Tour golfer Tom Kim narrowly avoided being late for his Sunday morning tee time at the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, causing quite a stir among online viewers. One person who took notice was Golf Channel personality Smylie Kaufman, who shared his thoughts on the situation on X.
Kim was scheduled to begin his final round at 8AM local time at the famous Riviera Country Club. He managed to make it just in time, but not without some frantic running.
Videos of Kim sprinting around the golf course quickly spread on social media.
“Are you almost here? We’re about to start!”

Fans wasted no time in reacting to the viral moment, leaving comments in response.
“In N Out strikes again…”
“Not the best day to wear white pants!”
One of the more humorous responses came from Golf Channel personality Smylie Kaufman.
“This is the dash of someone who could have easily chosen the cold turkey and cheese before the round but went for the hot and grilled version instead,” the announcer wrote. “It’s a difficult decision, but undoubtedly the right one.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a tee time issue on the Tour this season.
Just last week, Lucas Glover missed his tee time completely after misinterpreting a text message on his phone. He had to withdraw from the tournament as a result.
“I’m kicking myself, but also laughing at myself,” he said after the withdrawal.
Tom Kim managed to make his tee time, but just barely!
Despite his late arrival, he played well on Sunday, shooting two-under par for the round. This put him at -5 for the tournament, although he still remains far from the top of the leaderboard.
