Christian Horner, the Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, has responded to claims from rival Formula 1 bosses regarding staff departures. He revealed that Red Bull has hired 220 members from Mercedes, countering the speculation of a mass exodus from his team. McLaren CEO Zak Brown further fueled the rumors by stating that they had received CVs from Red Bull affiliates after the announcement of design guru Adrian Newey’s departure in 2025. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff agreed with Brown, acknowledging an increase in people intending to leave Red Bull. However, Horner believes that Wolff should focus on Mercedes’ on-track struggles instead of personnel matters. He expressed confidence in the strength and depth of his team, highlighting the 200 employees hired from Mercedes for Red Bull’s engine division. Horner dismissed the significance of a few CVs and emphasized the importance of the 220 people who have joined Red Bull Powertrains from HPP. As for speculation about Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley’s potential departure, Horner declined to comment on any contractual discussions, as they are not disclosed publicly by Red Bull.
