With two of the biggest names in the sport set to collide, the world eagerly awaits the highly anticipated clash. This legendary battle features two undefeated boxers, and was originally scheduled for February 17th but has been pushed back to May 18th. The delay was caused by Fury sustaining a significant cut above his eye during a training camp.
While fans around the globe were disappointed by the news, the fighters themselves were likely even more let down. Fury expressed his frustrations about the injury and confirmed his determination to proceed with the fight. However, it was reported that Usyk had a smile on his face when he first heard about Fury’s injury. In an interview with Boxing King Media, Usyk discussed his reaction to the news and his personal thoughts. According to Usyk:
Furthermore, Usyk was unable to witness the birth of his daughter as he was away at camp preparing for the fight against Fury. However, he has since been able to spend time with her. This brought him immense relief, and he did not become overly upset about the fight being postponed.

Some may argue that this was a blessing in disguise for Usyk, as he finally had the opportunity to meet his newborn child. Usyk himself stated that he was not concerned and believed that whatever is meant to happen in the future will come to pass. Therefore, his composure in the face of his biggest fight being delayed is truly remarkable.
Fury suffered a severe cut above his left eye during a sparring session. The WBC champion was promptly taken for medical attention, where he received multiple stitches. As a result, the fight had to be postponed, leading many to speculate that Fury was afraid of facing Usyk.
Similarly, Usyk’s promoter publicly voiced this sentiment, causing Fury to react strongly during a virtual interview. In his conversation with Boxing King Media, Usyk discussed Fury’s injury and shared his thoughts on Fury. Fury claimed that the cut was caused by a punch, not an elbow, although it is difficult to confirm this.
Additionally, the interviewer brought up Usyk’s promoter’s comments and asked Usyk if he believed Fury was afraid to fight. In response, Usyk stated that he was unsure if Fury truly wanted to face him, but he firmly believed that Fury was indeed scared.
