The NTT IndyCar Series organized a unique showcase round this weekend at the Thermal Club, where heat races determined the final race winner and the recipient of a substantial cash prize.
Early in the day, two exhilarating heat races unfolded, with Alex Palou and Felix Rosenqvist both emerging victorious from their pole positions. This secured them spots on the front row for the main event.
Although the initial stages of the race were slow-paced, as drivers took extreme measures to preserve their tires, the final laps witnessed an increase in speed, resulting in intense battles for positions.

However, Alex Palou proved untouchable and claimed the grand prize of $500,000. Scott McLaughlin and Felix Rosenqvist also secured podium finishes and substantial monetary rewards.
Following this event, there is a significant gap in the calendar before the next points-paying race in Long Beach. In the meantime, various testing sessions are scheduled to fill the time.
