Penske Entertainment has selected The CW for the revival of its 100 Days To Indy documentary series, set to premiere in April following the new season’s launch on March 10 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The six-part series, previously aired on The CW in 2023, follows the early stages of the championship leading up to the prestigious Indianapolis 500 on May 26. The last episode of 100 Days aired two weeks after Josef Newgarden’s victory in the most recent edition.
“We are excited to bring another season of 100 Days To Indy to The CW and expand our collection of high-quality sports programming,” stated Heather Olander, Head of Unscripted Programming at The CW. “Last season provided fans with unprecedented access behind the scenes of IndyCar racing, leading up to the pinnacle event of the year, the Indy 500. We showcased Josef Newgarden’s journey to the Brickyard in Indianapolis, where he emerged as the winner of last year’s Indy 500. We eagerly anticipate another season, following the incredible drivers and capturing all the action leading up to this year’s race.”
The series will continue to be produced by Penske Entertainment, the owners of the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, along with Patrick Dimon and Adam Marinelli. It falls within the growing genre of racing docuseries. While Season 1 of 100 Days received support from and was distributed on VICE Channel, Netflix’s Drive To Survive has set the global standard with its focus on Formula 1. Netflix has also recently added NASCAR to its lineup with the new Full Speed series. In the realm of sports car racing, IMSA’s Win The Weekend premiered on YouTube in 2023, highlighting the new hybrid GTP cars. It is anticipated that the series will shift its attention to the expanding GT manufacturers in the 2024 season. IMSA’s European partners in the FIA World Endurance Championship also had a presence on YouTube with their Full Access series in 2023, and there have been rumors of a move to a larger streaming platform for the upcoming season.
