Jaguar TCS Racing has provided FIA Formula E with an additional boost through their announcement that the team has become the second in the sport to commit to the upcoming GEN4 era, ensuring their presence in the series until at least 2030.
During a press conference in Monaco prior to tomorrow’s E-Prix in the esteemed principality, the British squad became the second team, following Nissan, to declare that they will be securing their position as a Formula E team for the foreseeable future.
With more than 100 races completed, 13 victories, and 37 podium finishes, Jaguar is one of the longest-serving and most successful teams in the history of FE. It appears that the prominent motorsport entity has ambitious aspirations to match its reputation.

When questioned about whether Jaguar made the correct decision to join Formula E, especially considering the skepticism surrounding the sport’s inception, Team Principal James Barclay responded, “I recall being in the Shard in 2015 when Jaguar returned to racing after a 12-year hiatus. At that time, entering Formula E surprised many. However, for us, it was crystal clear. In the same year, a climate change convention took place, serving as a pivotal moment signifying that the world would undergo significant changes in this area.
“We did not follow the conventional path of our competitors in motorsport. Instead, we aimed to lead from the forefront, which has always been our modus operandi. From our perspective, the timing and circumstances were ideal.
“If we examine the journey that Formula E has embarked upon, we witness manufacturers entering and exiting, new teams joining, and an extraordinary history unfolding in just ten years. Therefore, I believe our decision has been validated. The future is incredibly promising, and this is an extraordinary period for motorsport. Formula E is experiencing rapid growth, and despite being a relatively young sport, it has achieved remarkable feats.
“I believe Formula E is still in its infancy, with a long and bright future ahead. The ingredients it possesses are unparalleled. We simply need to collaborate and nurture them in the most effective manner. By doing so, the sport will unlock its incredible potential for the future.”
