The NASCAR world has always been engaged in the discussion of who is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT). However, opinions have shifted over the years and some have even included the modern trailblazers of the sport in the conversation. Recently, Kyle Busch shared his thoughts on what would happen if he and Dale Earnhardt raced during their prime.
Throughout history, drivers like Earnhardt and have been part of the debate on who deserves the title of GOAT. But as time went on, the discussion expanded to include drivers from different eras. This led to the question of who would come out on top if Earnhardt and Busch had raced against each other.
NBC Sports’ NASCAR page recently posed the question of who would win a race between Busch and Dale Sr. They suggested a hypothetical 10-lap race at Bristol Motor Speedway with both drivers in equal cars. Busch, who came across the post, admitted that the race would not have a conclusive finish.
According to Busch, neither he nor Earnhardt would make it to the checkered flag. The RCR driver believes that both drivers would have been involved in an incident, given their aggressive racing styles and their careers filled with incidents.
The year hasn’t started well for Busch, mainly due to ongoing issues with his pit crew. The pit crew for Busch has changed multiple times over the weekends due to several failed stops. One such instance occurred at Phoenix during his home race when he missed his marks and failed to stop on time.
As a result, Busch received a penalty that ruined his race in Sin City. Although this time it wasn’t his pit crew’s fault, Busch felt frustrated with the incident. Subsequently, his pit crew was changed again for the race in Phoenix. However, the race didn’t go any better for Busch as he finished in 22nd place. The two-time champion is falling behind in the standings and is hoping for a miracle in Bristol.
