The 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale is renowned for its lively atmosphere in the world of golf. Every year at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, this designated “party hole” never fails to deliver excitement with aces from PGA Tour players.
This weekend, the annual tournament will showcase this vibrant environment once again as it kicks off on Thursday. However, the PGA Tour will face some competition this year as LIV Golf makes its mark across the desert.
The race for a hole-in-one is on!
The weather conditions in Arizona may not be ideal for an outdoor celebration, but that hasn’t stopped fans from getting the party started. Despite rain and temperatures in the 50s during the opening round, attendees have gathered at the 16th hole with drinks in hand.
There was almost a moment of eruption when Aaron Baddeley hit the green in his opening round. Unfortunately, viewers missed out on witnessing that hole-in-one opportunity, and as of now, they have yet to experience the beer showers.

A few years ago, fans exploded with excitement on the 16th green following a tee shot by Sam Ryder. The scenes are absolutely incredible when those aces happen, so it’s no surprise that others are attempting to replicate them. LIV Golf has taken this competition to the next level by not only showcasing their own version of the watering hole in Las Vegas but also debuting it on the exact same weekend as the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

With Super Bowl LVIII taking place in town, celebrities and golf superstars have gathered to play in Thursday’s opening round. And for those in attendance, the weather is much more conducive to a party.
The party is set to happen on the eighth hole, which is designated for hole-in-one fan festivities. This scene was hyped on social media earlier in the week.

LIV Golf has attempted to recreate the epic watering hole experience at other locations, including Adelaide and Chicago. Last season, Chase Koepka ignited the celebration in Australia, giving fans a taste of the fun.
Now, they’ll aim to match that atmosphere in Las Vegas!
Will LIV Golf steal some of the spotlight from the PGA Tour? So far, fans haven’t had the chance to celebrate, but there’s a long weekend ahead!
We’ll see which course becomes the first to be drenched in alcoholic beverages as these two tournaments run simultaneously.
