The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached a new agreement with free agent southpaw Clayton Kershaw, according to reports from Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Kershaw is set to undergo a medical examination this Thursday. The talented pitcher underwent surgery on his shoulder last November and is anticipated to be out of action until the latter part of the season. Thursday marks the first day that the Dodgers are able to designate a player directly to the 60-day injured list, making it highly probable that Kershaw will be placed on the 60-day IL alongside other injured pitchers such as Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May.
