LSU running back Trey Holly is asserting his lack of guilt after being charged with second-degree attempted murder.
Holly surrendered himself earlier this week following allegations of second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon. Holly, along with two others, was apprehended in connection with a shooting incident at an apartment complex in Union Parish, Louisiana, as reported by Fox News. Currently, he is under indefinite suspension while the situation unfolds.
Nevertheless, Trey Holly maintains that this is a colossal case of mistaken identity and that he is completely innocent.
“As many of you are aware, I was recently arrested on three felony charges. I have been wrongly identified, accused, and arrested. I am entirely innocent, and those who are familiar with me can attest that this is completely out of character. I had no involvement in the incident whatsoever,” Holly expressed on Facebook Saturday night.
The LSU running back further elaborated, stating, “I was actually at home when the incident occurred. I turned myself in upon being informed of the arrest warrant because I wanted to fully cooperate. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, I am unable to provide extensive details. To my fans, I apologize for the confusion, but you all know this is not who I am. I will return stronger than ever and eagerly anticipate proving my innocence.”
