LSU running back Trey Holly is under suspicion for a possible murder attempt, resulting from a shooting incident on February 9. He voluntarily surrendered to the authorities at the Farmerville Police Department on Thursday.
The shooting took place at an apartment complex in Union Parish, where multiple gunshots were fired, causing injuries to three individuals, one of whom is in critical condition. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported.
Trey Holly, a player for the LSU Tigers, was charged with three felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and the illegal use of a weapon. He is currently being held at the Union Parish Detention Center on a bond of $512,000. Additionally, two other individuals have been apprehended in connection with the shooting.
During his freshman year in Baton Rouge, Holly participated in three games for the Tigers. Throughout his limited appearances, he managed to accumulate 11 carries, resulting in 110 yards gained and one touchdown scored.
Jacques Doucet from WFAB shared a statement from LSU, acknowledging Holly’s arrest and declaring his indefinite suspension from all team activities.
“We have been made aware that one of our student-athletes has been arrested in relation to a shooting incident in Union Parish. As per our departmental policies, this student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities. Out of respect for the ongoing judicial process, we will refrain from making any further comments.”
