Jorge Martin, the current leader of the MotoGP championship, narrowly avoided a penalty after a close call with Jack Miller during the Dutch TT. Martin and a group of racers had slowed down to deter those behind them from catching a tow around the fast Dutch track. This chain reaction caused Martin to brake sharply while Miller was checking over his shoulder. Fortunately, there was no crash, but Miller’s KTM suffered damage to its front suspension aerodynamics. Martin claimed that he couldn’t see what happened behind him and that it was just a small touch. Miller, on the other hand, accepted the blame for the incident and acknowledged that the slow riding was a result of others trying to follow the group. Despite this incident, there was no investigation or penalty imposed. The lack of consistency in penalties given by MotoGP’s judicial body has raised questions about their fairness and whether complaints or crashes play a role in determining the severity of the punishment.
