Red Bull has suspended the female employee after the investigation into Christian Horner concluded. The investigation saga seemed to come to an end during the recent events, which involved a massive data leak. Since then, no significant updates regarding the team principal’s case have emerged. However, amidst the preparations for the upcoming race, the father of Max Verstappen, Jos Verstappen, expressed empathy towards the female employee who made the allegations.
Red Bull clarified that the team principal was not found guilty of any inappropriate behavior towards the female employee. Prior to the start of the Jeddah weekend, Milton Keynes suspended the female employee. Consequently, Jos Verstappen mentioned that he understood and sympathized with the woman, considering the ordeal she had gone through regarding the case.
Furthermore, the Dutchman asserted that Red Bull was aware of the situation concerning the female employee. However, it was up to the employee to decide whether she wanted to make her grievances public and pursue the matter further. Subsequently, Verstappen Sr. shared his thoughts on the team’s decision to “draw a line” over the case but refrained from discussing the current situation in order to avoid any complications.
Despite the controversy, the 50-year-old Christian Horner has been given the green light to continue leading Red Bull until the 2024 season. The 52-year-old Jos Verstappen emphasized the crucial support of the team’s owner, Chalerm Yoovidhya, in ensuring Horner’s security within the team. Verstappen Sr. also made it clear that Horner would remain the team principal at Milton Keynes, regardless of the entire fiasco.
Additionally, the two individuals had a disagreement prior to the season opener, the Bahrain GP, regarding comments made by Jos Verstappen. Despite the strained relationship between the two, Horner congratulated Verstappen Sr. following Max Verstappen’s dominant victory in the first race of the 2024 season. Therefore, it is likely that the team will proceed with the season as planned, despite the ongoing investigation involving Christian Horner.
Red Bull has once again managed to create a formidable contender for the drivers’ championship. The team achieved a dominant one-two finish at the Bahrain GP, indicating their potential to have a perfect season in 2024 and break numerous records in the sport. Currently, Red Bull is preparing for the Saudi Arabian GP with Max Verstappen starting from pole position.
