Maserati MSG Racing has announced a partnership with a well-established eSports team, in which they will also share a driver. The Monaco-based team and French eSports squad Race Clutch have come together in a collaboration that will see Hungarian driver Balazs Remenyik working as Maserati’s official simulator driver. This news comes as Maserati kicks off the 2024 FIA Formula E World Championship with a strong start, with driver Maximilian Gunther currently sitting in 5th place in the Drivers’ Championship standings. Race Clutch, who have a wealth of experience in eSports, have previously worked with real-life racing teams, including Alpine in the F1 eSports World Championship in 2021. Maserati’s Head of Performance, Alex Dardelet, expressed excitement about the appointment, stating that Balazs’ perspective from the competitive virtual world of motorsport will bring significant value to their team. Richard Arnaud, CEO of Race Clutch, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the collaboration’s aim to bridge the gap between virtual and real motorsport. Remenyik himself expressed his enthusiasm for joining Maserati, describing it as an exceptional opportunity to explore new horizons in sim racing and contribute to the team’s performance on real circuits.
