The updated 2025 Ford Explorer has a starting price of $39,625 for the Active version, followed by the ST-Line at just over $44,000. The Platinum model starts at $51,525, and the powerful ST begins at an MSRP of $55,205. On the other hand, the 2024 Lincoln Aviator, without any fresh changes, starts at $53,340 and goes up to $59,000 for the Reserve model, and over $79,000 for the Black Label models.
However, the Aviator couldn’t lag behind the Explorer and wait. Lincoln has swiftly announced the refreshed 2025 model year for the Aviator as well. It brings elegance and a plethora of technology, aiming to combine an “elevated design” with new connected experiences such as the all-new Lincoln Digital Experience and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, both of which are available for the first time in the Aviator series.
As is customary with any facelift, the most notable changes can be seen at the front of the vehicle. Lincoln has significantly increased the size of the radiator grille, repositioned the LED DRLs, and introduced new LED headlights. The Reserve and Black Label models come standard with an Illumination Package, which includes features like an illuminated Lincoln star on the grille, adaptive pixel LED headlamps, speed-dependent lighting, adaptive bending lighting, and Lincoln dynamic signature lighting with LED daytime running lamps.
The Black Label models also offer two new exterior color options – Cenote Green and Whisper Blue Metallic. Additionally, there is an all-new Jet Package available on all trims, featuring distinct 21-inch wheels for the Premiere model and 22-inch wheels for the Reserve and Black Label models. The Reserve trim also offers a Lincoln Black Label Special Edition package with a two-tone appearance. Furthermore, the Reserve trim presents four new interior color choices: Onyx, Light Space Gray, Harvest Bronze with Onyx accents, and Hot Chocolate with Onyx details.
Inside the cabin, the Aviator now boasts larger displays, including a 13.2-inch central touchscreen and a new 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. These displays are controlled by the all-new Lincoln Digital Experience, which provides access to Google, Amazon, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto services. The Lincoln Digital Experience offers plenty of customization with apps from Google Play, such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeartRadio. The optional Revel Ultima 3D Audio System with 28 speakers takes the listening experience to new heights. Additionally, the Aviator comes with the embedded SiriusXM with 360L and offers the optional 30-way Perfect Position Front Seats.
Lastly, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator comes with standard BlueCruise assistance, allowing for hands-free highway driving for four years after vehicle purchase. However, this updated model comes with a premium price compared to its predecessor. Deliveries are set to begin in the summer, and while ordering is already open, the starting MSRP is $58,495, which is over $5,000 higher than the 2024 model year. The Reserve trim starts at $67,495, and the Black Label trim starts at a staggering $87,000!
