Not too long ago, Don Shula, Bill Belichick, and Vince Lombardi were widely regarded as the most exceptional coaches in the history of the NFL.
Now, it might be officially time to include Andy Reid in that esteemed group.
The offensive genius has been the mastermind behind the most recent dynasty, and he has consistently proven himself as the most outstanding offensive play-caller this sport has ever witnessed.
That’s why, following their victory in Super Bowl LVIII, Patrick Mahomes made sure to express his thoughts on his coach, proclaiming him as the greatest of all time (Via Around the NFL):
“I believe he is the greatest coach of all time,” Patrick Mahomes stated after winning Super Bowl LVIII.
Super Bowl rewind: Patrick Mahomes believes Andy Reid is “the best coach of all time.”
Together, Mahomes and Reid have achieved 89 victories against 25 losses (including playoffs).
Certainly, they haven’t been together for as long as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady were, but they have already earned half of the championships they won during their tenure with the New England Patriots in less than half the time.
Unfortunately, Reid is unlikely to remain Mahomes’ head coach for two decades, as he is already 65 years old.
Nevertheless, Mahomes has already expressed his strong belief that his head coach will stay put for the foreseeable future, especially now that they have the opportunity to become the first NFL team to win three consecutive championships in the history of the league.
Reid may or may not be the greatest of all time, but he is unquestionably the finest in today’s game.
