Harrison Butker has now set a new record for the longest field goal in the history of the Super Bowl.
During his appearance on The Show on Tuesday, a popular talk show, Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, discussed his relationship with the team’s kicker, Harrison Butker, as well as their recent Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes revealed that he and Butker do not communicate throughout the year, suggesting that their relationship is practically non-existent.
Butker’s performance at the Super Bowl held in Las Vegas was exceptional. He successfully kicked two field goals from a distance of over 50 yards at Allegiant Stadium. Mahomes also made an appearance on the show and talked about their Super Bowl win and his connection with the team’s kicker.
Mahomes stated:

Throughout the season, Butker displayed an outstanding performance, especially during Super Bowl LVIII. Field Yates, a renowned sports analyst, reported that Butker had an impressive season, successfully completing 44 out of 46 attempts, including all 15 from a distance of over 40 yards and all 7 from a distance of over 50 yards.
While the majority of praise for the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVIII went to Patrick Mahomes and the team, it is important to acknowledge the contribution of Nick Allegretti, the left tackle. Allegretti reportedly played in the game despite suffering from a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his elbow, making him one of the unsung heroes of the event.
In the Super Bowl, Allegretti participated in all 79 snaps, and Mahomes took to Twitter to recognize his teammate’s dedication. Mahomes wrote:
“Chiefs OL Nick Allegretti suffered a torn UCL in the second quarter of the Super Bowl. He played the entire game! 💪(via @TomPelissero) pic.twitter.com/MeDkfeaDzf”
According to reports, Allegretti sustained the UCL injury during the second quarter of the game. An MRI later confirmed a complete tear of his ulnar collateral ligament. Allegretti’s opportunity to start in the Super Bowl came about due to an injury suffered by the All-Pro left tackle.
Looking ahead, the Chiefs are undoubtedly confident in their chances of achieving an unprecedented three-peat in the upcoming season, as they are the first team since the 2004 New England Patriots to win back-to-back titles.
