Oscar Piastri, a driver for McLaren, believes that the Imola circuit needs to undergo improvements in order to enhance the quality of Formula 1 racing. Piastri described the recent race as “boring” and expressed his disappointment at not being able to overtake the other competitors. Despite qualifying on the front row, Piastri was penalized and dropped to fifth place. He was able to pass one of the Ferraris but struggled to overtake the second one. Piastri suggested that changes to the track, such as increasing the length of the DRS zone, could improve the chances of overtaking. His teammate, Lando Norris, also shared similar sentiments, stating that tracks like Imola make it difficult for drivers to overtake. Sergio Perez, another driver, went even further by stating that the track is not suitable for Formula 1 racing.
