The name Condamine Campers may not ring a bell for most people. This is because it is a small, family-owned company based in Australia. However, the owner, John Huth, has been building campers since 1999 and has perfected the craft over the years. Their latest creation, the Compact Camper (CC), may seem unassuming at first glance, but it is actually quite impressive.
On the outside, the CC appears to be a simple box on wheels. However, a closer look reveals that it is equipped with a top-of-the-line Cruisemaster trailing A-arm suspension with twin shocks for each wheel. In other words, it is built to handle any terrain with ease.
Moving inside the camper, you will find everything you need for a comfortable outdoor life. From solar power to fresh water, a fully-equipped kitchen, and even a cozy bedroom, the CC has it all. Surprisingly, it is priced at just $51,500 Australian dollars, which is approximately $33,700.
Imagine yourself driving down the highway, towing this compact camper behind you. With a weight of only 1,050 kg (2,314 lbs), you will have plenty of space to bring along all your essentials and even some recreational items. And thanks to its off-road capabilities, you can venture off the beaten path and explore remote and untouched locations.
After a thrilling off-road adventure, you arrive at a secluded spot where nature surrounds you. Take a moment to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the peacefulness. The CC’s pop-top design provides a comfortable sleeping area, allowing you to rest and recharge for the next day’s adventures.
But what about the rest of the camper? Well, that’s where things get interesting. Each unit is meticulously designed to accommodate all the necessities for two people to live comfortably off-grid. For example, there is a spacious storage compartment at the front of the camper, housing gas tanks, a water heater, and an outdoor shower.
In conclusion, Condamine Campers has created a truly remarkable camper with the Compact Camper. Despite its minimalist appearance, it is packed with features and built to tackle any terrain. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a nature enthusiast, the CC is sure to enhance your outdoor experiences.
Shifting our attention to the primary section, the right portion of the CC is designated for spacious storage compartments for various items such as tools, apparel, footwear, and even inflatable watercraft like standup paddleboards (SUPs). However, it is the left side that truly caught my eye and one of the primary reasons why I opted to shed light on this particular unit.

On the port side of the unit, Condamine went all out by incorporating not just one, not two, but three pull-out drawers, effectively doubling the width of this camper when accessed. At this stage, we gain access to features such as a cooktop, a generously-sized countertop, a sink with a faucet, additional countertop space, storage for dry goods, and lastly, a refrigerator. And mind you, all of these features are included as standard!
Condamine Campers also includes a few other noteworthy features as standard, including a Webasto diesel heater, two 90-liter (24-gallon) water tanks, and a robust electrical setup. The BMS is provided by Victorn, with a battery power of 240 Ah and solar cells generating 390 W of power. What more could one desire? To be honest, for this price range, only a few manufacturers can offer what we see here, and this is where the “catch” I mentioned earlier arises.
From what I gathered, it appears that Condamine is exclusively selling its units in Australia, which means that they are specifically designed to adhere to Australian laws and road regulations. Consequently, potential owners from other parts of the world may encounter some obstacles if they attempt to bring one of these units back home. Just a small factor worth considering.
