In an unexpected turn of events, support for Fields’ future in the NFL came from an unlikely source. During the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII, George Kittle, the tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, shared his thoughts on the team’s journey to the big game. However, he also took the opportunity to express his opinion on a completely different topic.
While the entire nation is captivated by the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, it’s important not to overlook the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. If everything goes as planned, Fields’ fate will be decided on the first day of the draft.
Meanwhile, Kittle found himself in a question-and-answer session at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. A reporter inquired about his perspective on what approach the Chicago Bears should take regarding their quarterback situation.
With the number one pick in the draft, the Bears have the opportunity to secure a top-tier quarterback, according to many analysts. However, Kittle believes that the Bears’ general manager should stick with Fields and trade away the top pick.

Throughout history, Chicago hasn’t been the most conducive environment for quarterbacks to thrive. Justin Fields is one of many who failed to live up to the hype surrounding their pre-draft expectations. In his three years in the league, the 24-year-old only managed to win 10 games while losing 28. However, there is still hope for Fields, as he showed promise in the previous season.
Most of his victories came in the 2023 season, where he played 13 games and finished with a 5-8 record. Fields completed 227 passes for 2562 yards, throwing 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also contributed 12 carries for 657 rushing yards and scored 4 touchdowns. While these numbers may not be outstanding, they were enough to earn him support from the Soldier Field faithful.
In the previous year’s draft, the Bears acquired wide receiver , who had his most successful season since entering the NFL. Moore caught 96 passes for 1,364 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns. He is keen on continuing his partnership with Fields.
Currently, both Fields and Williams are projected to be the top picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. USC’s and North Carolina’s are the two highly regarded quarterbacks. Williams is favored to be the first one selected, but his recent social media activity suggests that he prefers to stay close to home and play for the Washington Commanders rather than move to Chicago.
If the Bears decide to trade the number one pick, ESPN’s suggests that they could receive multiple advantageous picks in return. This would potentially include two first-round picks on the first day of the draft and an additional pick for the following day.
