LAS VEGAS RAIDERS EYEING YOUNG QUARTERBACK IN TRADE DEAL
In a bold move to secure a promising young quarterback, the Las Vegas Raiders are considering a trade with the Washington Commanders. The proposed deal would send wide receiver Davante Adams to Washington in exchange for defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, quarterback Sam Howell, and a 2024 second-round pick.
Despite Howell’s 21 interceptions this season, experts believe that his potential outweighs his mistakes. Playing in a pass-heavy offense and facing constant pressure from a weak offensive line, Howell still managed to show glimpses of greatness. The Raiders see an opportunity for him to compete with Aidan O’Connell for the starting job in 2024.
However, the real gem in this trade would be Jonathan Allen. With the addition of Allen, the Raiders’ pass rush would become a force to be reckoned with. Maxx Crosby’s All-Pro season and the emergence of Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson make the Raiders’ defense a formidable unit.
If the trade were to go through, it would be a solid haul for the Raiders. Allen, a two-time Pro Bowler, would address a position of need, while Howell’s potential could make him a valuable asset in the future.

DAVANTE ADAMS TRADE SPECULATION OVERBLOWN
In a surprising turn of events, the Davante Adams trade speculation appears to be overblown. The star wide receiver recently endorsed Antonio Pierce as head coach, and it seems that the team has listened to his recommendation. Not only did they hire Pierce, but they also brought in Luke Getsy as the offensive coordinator. Getsy previously served as Adams’ position coach during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
With these recent developments, there is little reason to suspect that Adams will ask for a trade. The Raiders have made moves to satisfy his desires, and it seems that a team like the Commanders isn’t any closer to contending. Unless new general manager Tom Telesco believes that the team should get younger and wants to acquire assets for Adams while he is still valuable, an Adams trade doesn’t make much sense.
RAIDERS LOOKING FOR A NEW QUARTERBACK
While the trade rumors surrounding Adams may have been exaggerated, it is clear that the Raiders are actively searching for a new quarterback. Fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell showed promise during his rookie season, but it seems that the team doesn’t view him as a franchise quarterback. According to reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo, the Raiders are planning to do whatever it takes to bring in another quarterback.
New head coach Antonio Pierce is determined to be aggressive in finding a new QB, and owner Mark Davis has made it known that he highly values the position. During the search for a new general manager, Davis grilled candidates on their plans to trade up and secure a top quarterback in the upcoming draft. It is evident that the Raiders are prioritizing the quarterback position and are willing to make bold moves to improve their roster.
LOOKING AHEAD
As the offseason progresses, the Raiders will undoubtedly explore various quarterback options. However, it remains uncertain whether they will find a suitable solution. The team’s determination to upgrade the position is clear, but it is yet to be seen if they will be successful in their pursuit. Only time will tell if the Raiders can secure a quarterback who meets their expectations and helps propel them to success in the upcoming season.
