Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar, is in the final stages of completing his move to Real Madrid. Romano confirms that Mbappe is solely focused on joining Los Blancos and is not engaged in negotiations with any other club.
Earlier this week, Spanish outlets MARCA and Diario AS reported that Real Madrid had secured Mbappe’s signature on a five-year contract. The reports suggested that the deal had been finalized in January, with only the official announcement pending. However, ESPN later refuted these claims, stating that Mbappe was still in negotiations with Real Madrid regarding the terms of his contract.
Romano has now supported ESPN’s stance, revealing that Mbappe and his team are actively discussing the final details of his contract with Real Madrid. In a Facebook post, the Italian journalist wrote:
“Kylian Mbappé is currently finalizing the details of his move to Real Madrid!
“Mbappé has had a formal contract proposal from Real Madrid since January, and the final details are being sorted. There have been no negotiations with any other club so far, as his full focus is on joining Real Madrid.”
Previously, there were reports linking Mbappe with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. However, considering the Frenchman’s strong affinity for Los Merengues, the links to Premier League clubs never seemed concrete.
Romano also provided insight into the specifics of Mbappe’s deal with Real Madrid. According to the journalist, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will receive a substantial signing bonus, but his fixed salary will not exceed that of players like Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham.
“Mbappé will receive a significant signing fee, but his fixed salary will be similar to that of players like Vinicius and Bellingham.
“The structure of image rights is currently being finalized to ensure all the necessary documents are ready and signed at the appropriate time.”
According to Capology, Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham are the fourth and fifth-highest-paid players at Real Madrid, with Toni Kroos, David Alaba, and Luka Modric occupying the top spots. The two young talents earn a net salary of $207,474 per week at Real Madrid and also have the opportunity to earn an annual bonus of $2.1 million.
