In a surprising turn of events, and as the world of Formula 1 was still grappling with the news of Lewis Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes to join Ferrari in 2025, it has now come to light that Formula 1 One Management has denied Andretti Cadillac’s bid. In addition to this, it has been revealed that Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, is currently under investigation for alleged inappropriate conduct.
According to reports, Horner has been accused by a female colleague of displaying “extremely controlling behavior”. In response, Red Bull, the owners of Oracle Red Bull Racing, have initiated an internal investigation and have enlisted the services of a specialized barrister to carry out the inquiry.
A recent article in Auto Motor und Sport states that Horner is scheduled to attend a hearing session on Friday, during which the investigators will listen to his side of the story. Horner has vehemently denied the allegations, while Helmut Marko, the F1 Consultant for Red Bull, has refrained from commenting on the ongoing situation.
Despite the investigation, Horner continues to fulfill his duties and was even present at the F1 Commission meeting in London on Monday. However, the outcome of the investigation will ultimately determine whether he will be able to retain his position.
The report in AMuS suggests that Red Bull is eager to conclude the investigation before February 15, which is the day they plan to unveil their 2024 F1 car, the RB20. This car will be used by Max Verstappen to defend his F1 Drivers’ Title. Red Bull is keen to ensure that the launch event for their 2024 F1 campaign is not overshadowed by the ongoing investigation.
