The Pittsburgh Steelers are making waves in the 2023 NFL draft with their selection of Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones. And according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, history could repeat itself in 2024 with another Georgia offensive tackle, Amarius Mims.
Zierlein recently released his mock draft on February 5, predicting that the Steelers will choose Mims as the 20th overall pick. He believes that Mims is a top-tier talent with the ideal physique for his position, making him a coveted prospect for teams. Zierlein also suggests that pairing Mims with his former Georgia Bulldog teammate, Broderick Jones, could be a winning decision for the Steelers.
During the 2022 season, Mims and Jones both played on the Georgia offensive line in the program’s two College Football Playoff games. Jones held down the left tackle position, while Mims started at right tackle. Their combined efforts helped Georgia secure their second consecutive national championship in 2022.
It will be interesting to see if the Steelers follow Zierlein’s prediction and add another talented Georgia offensive tackle to their roster in the 2024 NFL draft. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
