The widely used streaming platform Twitch has served as the starting point of many prominent streamers’ careers. However, the platform is also known for its unfair treatment towards streamers, leading many of them to migrate to other platforms in search of fair treatment. Nevertheless, despite these issues, Twitch remains the preferred streaming platform.
Twitch’s competitor platform, Kick, has also been gaining significant attention. While Twitch is known for its strict policies and tendency to ban individuals, Kick remains relatively open-minded about what is permitted and what is not. As a result, many streamers have switched to Kick after being banned from Twitch with no hope of recovering their accounts.
Here are some popular streamers who are currently banned from Twitch.
Ice Poseidon is considered one of the pioneers of the IRL streaming community. The streamer initially started his journey on Twitch but has faced multiple bans from the platform, whether it be for his involvement in Ponzi schemes or swatting incidents. Ice was permanently banned from Twitch in April 2017.
Although the exact reason for his ban was not clarified, it occurred shortly after he was swatted on an American Airlines flight while streaming and was escorted off the plane by the police. Despite this, Ice was able to transition to YouTube and maintain his audience on that platform before eventually moving to Kick. He currently has 705k subscribers on YouTube and 134k followers on Kick.
Former Twitch streamer and popular Onlyfans model Amouranth has also faced multiple bans from Twitch. Amouranth gained fame through her hot tub streams and continues to engage in “sexually suggestive” content. As a result, she has been temporarily banned from Twitch on seven occasions.
Amouranth, also known as Kaitlyn Siragusa, had over 6.3 million followers on Twitch before transitioning to Kick. She has now accumulated over 207k followers on Kick and continues to stream on that platform. Additionally, she is one of the top creators on Onlyfans and has a substantial following.
Dr DisRespect is one of the most renowned OG gaming streamers of all time. Despite occasionally using profanity during his streams or going on rants, Doc was not involved in many controversies. Therefore, his permanent ban from Twitch on June 26, 2020, came as a shock to his community.
No specific reason was disclosed for Doc’s permanent ban, which was even more puzzling considering that he had signed a multi-year contract with Twitch. Following his ban, Doc moved to YouTube and currently has 4.63 million subscribers. Furthermore, he continues to stream regularly on that platform.
YouTube streamer IShowSpeed is known for his extravagant behavior during his streams. Although he initially began his streaming journey on YouTube, he used to stream regularly on Twitch as well. However, after making a “rape joke” towards female streamer AshKaash, the YouTube streamer was banned from Twitch.
This led him to shift his streaming activities entirely to YouTube. He still has over 250k followers on Twitch but has transitioned to YouTube, where he now has over 23 million subscribers and continues to stream regularly.
Adin Ross was one of the most controversial Twitch streamers. Ross was notorious for his unrestrained behavior, frequently going on seemingly racist rants without holding back. As a result, he was banned from Twitch over seven times before finally receiving a permanent ban. The reason for his ban was his inability to moderate “hateful conduct” in his chat.
Adin publicly discussed his ban on Twitch and claimed that he believes they banned him out of spite, as he had already signed a deal with Kick. Furthermore, Ross is currently the most popular streamer on Kick, with over a million followers on that platform. He also utilizes YouTube to upload highlights from his streams.
