There has been a lot of talk about Arsenal’s desire to sign a new midfielder in the summer, and one of the latest names linked with them is Khephren Thuram of Nice. He is a highly talented player and there has also been speculation of interest from Liverpool and other major clubs in the past. However, the current situation is uncertain.
As of now, Arsenal has not made any concrete decisions regarding Thuram. Other names on their list include Martin Zubimendi and Douglas Luiz, but it remains to be seen who they will ultimately pursue. The price tag for Thuram has not been determined yet, so there is no news on his potential transfer.
Arsenal’s scouts have also been following Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao on multiple occasions, and Chelsea has shown interest in him as well. The competition for his signature is wide open, and there have been no significant developments with either club thus far. In my opinion, he would be a great addition to the Premier League due to his physicality and technical abilities.
Thiago Silva’s position in the Chelsea starting lineup may be in doubt after missing a game against Aston Villa in the FA Cup. However, I am not knowledgeable about this situation or what it means for his future with the team. It appears to be a technical decision made by the coaching staff, and it will ultimately depend on Mauricio Pochettino.
Conor Gallagher is another player at Chelsea who continues to attract attention. Despite reports suggesting that Chelsea has decided to sell him, nothing has been confirmed yet. We will have to wait and see what happens in the coming months.
As of now, Gallagher’s contract situation remains unchanged. If he reaches June or July without a contract extension until 2025, it will once again become a decision between extending his contract or selling him. However, nothing is certain at this stage, as there were many rumors in January but no negotiations or transfers took place.
Barcelona has a pact in place with Lamine Yamal to sign a new professional contract as soon as he turns 18. The club has already prepared the contract, including a new salary and other details for 2025. They have a good relationship with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who also represents Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix. The new contract will include a release clause of €1bn, just like the current one.
Regarding Barcelona’s managerial position, it is not true that Antonio Conte has been offered the job. There are currently no ongoing discussions between Conte and Barcelona. The same applies to Thiago Motta and Rafael Marquez, as there is no activity or interest from Barcelona at the moment.
Hansi Flick, on the other hand, is reportedly interested in joining Barcelona. However, the decision ultimately lies with Laporta and Deco, who have yet to make a choice. It will take some time before we find out who the new manager of Barcelona will be.
Real Madrid has identified Alphonso Davies as one of their top targets for the summer transfer window. However, a potential move depends on the outcome of contract negotiations between Davies and Bayern Munich. If they fail to reach an agreement, Real Madrid will have a significant opportunity to sign the Canadian left-back.
Alternatively, Real Madrid has another option in Miguel Gutierrez, who is currently playing for Girona. The 22-year-old has impressed Real Madrid with his development, and they have a 50% sell-on clause for him. They also have the option to bring him back to the club for €8m in summer 2024, €9m in summer 2025, and €10m in summer 2026.
Liverpool’s young talent Kieran Morrison is set to sign a new three-year contract with the club. Despite being linked with a move away last summer, the highly-rated midfielder, born in 2006, has verbally agreed to the new deal. The specifics of his future, such as whether he will get a chance in the first team or go out on loan, are not yet clear and will be determined by the new manager and director next season. The primary focus for now was securing his contract extension, which has been accomplished.
Finally, there have been rumors about Liverpool’s interest in Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. However, I have no confirmation or information regarding this story. I am not aware of any talks between the clubs or any specific interest in Dorgu.
