Yuki Tsunoda, a driver for the RB team, expressed his frustration over an incident that forced him to retire prematurely from the Chinese Grand Prix. Tsunoda believed that Kevin Magnussen was to blame for the collision that caused damage to his car. Magnussen attempted a late maneuver on the inside of Tsunoda at Turn 5, but lost control and made contact with the RB car. The FIA stewards penalized Magnussen with a 10-second time drop for the collision. Tsunoda stated that it was clear Magnussen was at fault for the incident and expressed disappointment over the missed opportunity for points. Despite the incident, Magnussen was able to continue the race and finish in 16th place. Tsunoda had a challenging weekend, struggling to keep up with his more experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo and failing to advance past Q1 in qualifying. RB Team Principal Laurent Mekies acknowledged the difficulties Tsunoda faced during the Sprint weekend in China.
