ANAHEIM, Calif. – The co-main event for UFC 298 has been confirmed as Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa successfully met the weight requirements for their significant middleweight matchup.
In the last three UFC events, the main attractions have been middleweight fighters, with the most recent one resulting in Dricus Du Plessis being crowned the new champion. Now, it’s Whittaker (24-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC) and Costa (14-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC), both former titleholders and prominent contenders, who have the opportunity to leave their mark on the division.
Before they could compete, however, they needed to meet the weight criteria. They accomplished this during the official weigh-ins on Friday, with Whittaker weighing in at 185.5 pounds and Costa matching that exact number.

UFC 298 will take place on Saturday at the Honda Center. The main card will be broadcasted on pay-per-view, following preliminaries on ESPN and ESPN+.
