Tragically, in 1994, Senna joined Williams but lost his life during his third race with the team. The fatal crash occurred on lap seven of the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.
This year, Sebastian Vettel will be present at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. As a tribute to Senna, he will be driving the MP4/8.
Vettel shared his participation in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on social media, stating, “I’ll see you in Imola on Sunday, May 19th, #FOREVERSENNA.”

He acknowledged the 30th anniversary of Senna’s accident and expressed his desire to pay tribute to the legendary driver. Vettel confirmed his presence at the Grand Prix in Imola, where he will drive Senna’s McLaren MP4/8. He extended an invitation to fans, hoping to see them on May 19th.
Vettel concluded his F1 career in 2022, racing for Aston Martin. During his time in the sport, he secured four F1 Titles with Red Bull Racing from 2010 to 2013. There have been rumors linking Vettel to a potential return to the sport, possibly replacing Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. However, there have been no significant developments regarding this speculation.
