The 22-year-old cricketer once again had a remarkable performance in the Test series against England, as he achieved his third century in the game on Saturday (February 17) at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. However, immediately after reaching his century, he had to leave the field due to an injury.
After completing his hundred off 122 deliveries, Jaiswal accumulated 104 runs from 133 balls, including nine boundaries and five sixes. He expressed his elation by jumping in the air to celebrate his achievement, but unfortunately, he had to retire hurt due to back pain.
Jaiswal, along with captain Rohit Sharma, opened the innings and contributed significantly to the team’s score. Sharma made 19 runs from 28 deliveries. This marks Jaiswal’s third Test century, following his outstanding performance in the second Test where he scored his first double century (209 runs off 290 balls). His debut Test century was against West Indies in July last year.
