Despite having the fastest cars, Denny Hamlin has experienced disappointing results in his last two races. In the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, Hamlin and Chase Elliott engaged in a fierce battle for the majority of the race. Ultimately, Hamlin’s attempt to make a move on Elliott resulted in contact, causing him to spin into the outside wall near turn 4 and end his race. This unfortunate incident ruined his chances of finishing in second place. Reflecting on the outcome, Hamlin took responsibility for the unsafe maneuver during his podcast, Action Detrimental.
While Hamlin acknowledged that second place would have been a satisfactory result, he emphasized the importance of taking risks in racing. He also commended Chase Elliott for his victory and praised his own team’s performance. Despite the setback, Hamlin remains optimistic and determined to bounce back in the upcoming race at Talladega.
During the podcast, Hamlin shared his thoughts leading up to the collision with Elliott. He had hoped to overtake the Hendrick Motorsport driver in the final laps and secure the win. However, his efforts were unsuccessful, and he was unable to pass Elliott. Nevertheless, Hamlin maintains a positive attitude and believes that he has one of the strongest cars this season. He remains committed to competing at the front of the pack.
