Kyle Busch is no stranger to experiencing physical altercations in the world of NASCAR. During the recent All-Star race weekend, Richard Childress Racing’s driver had one of the most intense moments of his career. At the start of the race, he made contact with the wall after being squeezed by another driver in a three-wide battle. In retaliation, he forced the No:47 Chevy into the wall, resulting in the car being unable to continue the race.
The 2022 Daytona 500 winner, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, was furious with Kyle Busch for causing the incident. He immediately parked his car in the designated pit-box and approached Busch’s crew chief to address the situation. Stenhouse Jr made it clear to the media that he would confront the two-time Cup champion once the race concluded.
After the incident, when Busch returned to his trailer, Stenhouse Jr was waiting for him. Without hesitation, Stenhouse Jr confronted Busch and engaged in a heated argument. Within seconds, Stenhouse Jr threw a punch at Busch, surprising those around them. The situation quickly escalated as Stenhouse Jr was tackled to the ground.
Meanwhile, Stenhouse Jr’s father also got involved, attempting to push and tackle Kyle Busch to the ground while his son was still on the ground. JTDGR crew members intervened and separated the parties involved. RCR crew members swiftly cleared the scene by tackling and pushing them away from Busch’s hauler.
In the aftermath of the crash, Stenhouse Jr spoke to the media and revealed that he had already informed Kyle Busch’s crew that he would be waiting for him on the pit-road. He followed through on his promise, adding even more drama to the day.
Unfortunately, the incident overshadowed Joey Logano’s victory in the All-Star race. Logano, another two-time Cup champion, had been struggling throughout the 2024 season. A win would have provided him with a much-needed boost of momentum for the remaining regular season races.
