The renowned goalkeeper and Chelsea icon has a plethora of memorable moments in his career. After retiring from football in 2019, he transitioned to ice hockey as a netminder. During an interview with Sky Sports, the Czech athlete made a surprising admission regarding bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Cech still holds the record for the most clean sheets in the Premier League by a goalkeeper, having kept 202 separate occasions goalless. He has appeared in 494 matches for the Blues, contributing to the team’s triumph in 13 major titles, including several Premier League championships and a UEFA Champions League victory. He made his debut in ice hockey in November of last year.
When Jamie Carragher of Sky asked him which current manager in the Premier League he would like to play under, Cech provided an unexpected response. He stated:
If I consider all the other managers (excluding Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola), I believe that when you look at the current manager of Tottenham, he appears to be a truly fascinating figure to play for.
Nevertheless, the former Chelsea player clarified that Guardiola and Klopp are the obvious choices.
The current manager of Tottenham Hotspur has experienced a mixed bag of results at the club. Apart from his involvement in football, the Spurs boss is known for his lively interactions with the media. Nonetheless, fans found it amusing that a former player from Chelsea and Arsenal would willingly consider playing for Tottenham!
