Kyle Petty was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional racing that took place at Kansas on Sunday. Last week at Kansas Speedway, Kyle Larson, Kyle Petty, and Kyle Busch made history when Larson won the AdventHealth 400 with a minuscule 0.001 second lead over the second-place finisher. Larson, driving the No:5 Chevy Camaro ZL1, aggressively maneuvered past the No:17 RFK Racing Ford Mustang just before the finish line, effectively killing his momentum and securing the victory.
Former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty, in his usual post-race analysis, expressed his admiration for how the race unfolded on Sunday and praised Kyle Larson’s exceptional driving skills. Despite being busy with his annual charity ride and being on the road for it, the eight-time Cup race winner took the time to share his insights on the race.
During his analysis, Petty highlighted Larson’s daring moves in the final laps, where he came dangerously close to the wall, as he always does. He emphasized that this display of commitment exemplifies why Larson became the 2021 Cup Series champion and is one of the key factors behind his success.
Although Larson was fast, he wasn’t certain if he would have been able to pass the RFK racer for the win in the end, as he experienced some loss of control in the center. The finish was incredibly intense and arguably one of the most thrilling races in the Next-Gen era, if not the absolute best.
NASCAR fans are eagerly anticipating more of these exhilarating races in the future with the introduction of the Next-Gen cars. This will provide drivers like Kyle Larson with opportunities to showcase their true racing skills and clutch performances.
