The Detroit Pistons have had a challenging 2023-24 NBA season so far. They have consistently been at the bottom of the standings throughout the year and currently hold the worst record in the league heading into the All-Star break.
As we approach the end of the season, there is another team that may end up with even fewer wins if things go well for the Pistons in the coming months.
Initially, the Pistons had a decent start, winning two out of their first three games. However, they quickly fell apart and suffered a record-breaking 28-game losing streak. From Halloween to Christmas, they couldn’t secure a single victory, becoming a laughingstock in the league and risking one of the worst records in NBA history.
Although they have managed to win a few games in the past three weeks, they still remain at the bottom of the league standings. Their win total is slowly approaching double digits, and if they continue to notch a few more victories, they might no longer hold the title of the worst team in the NBA.
The Washington Wizards have also struggled throughout the season, although not as severely as the Pistons. They have endured five separate losing streaks of six or more games, including their current seven-game losing streak.
Both teams are expected to face tough challenges on the night before the All-Star break, with odds favoring their opponents by 12 or more points. The Pistons will have a difficult schedule after the break, facing strong Eastern Conference contenders in the first few weeks.
However, with an 8-45 record, there are no easy wins for the Pistons. Nevertheless, anything can happen on any given night. In recent weeks, they have managed to defeat the Thunder and Kings, both of whom are among the top five teams in the Western Conference.
