Famed sportscaster Bob Costas confidently expressed his viewpoint on transgender athletes, stating that it contradicts ‘common sense’ during his appearance on the talk show “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
Costas’ opinions are far from those of a ‘radical, transphobic conservative,’ but the experienced broadcaster possesses enough intelligence and bravery to voice undeniable truths despite pressure from the politically correct crowd.
For example, Lia Thomas still desires to compete against women in swimming, despite having physical advantages, and Bob Costas dismissed it as nonsense.
Costas shared his controversial perspective with Maher, reminding viewers that it is not ‘transphobic’ to exercise logical thinking.

“Without delving too deeply into this, some people may not be aware that the individual federations governing these sports establish their own rules,” Costas explained. “Therefore, World Aquatics may have different regulations than FIFA or the Track and Field Association. So when it comes to Olympic boxing, that federation allows transgender women to compete against cisgender women, meaning those assigned female at birth. That seems absurd.”
Over the past couple of years, Americans have witnessed numerous instances of transgender female athletes disrupting fairness in their respective sports. In certain cases, the physical superiority of transgender athletes has resulted in harm to the women they compete against. Last year, a transgender athlete in North Carolina even added one of these unfortunate incidents to their highlight reel.
Costas addressed the intense resistance that arises when speaking out against transgender athletes and the illogicality of disregarding physical differences in the name of ‘inclusion.’
“It is not transphobic to suggest that we apply some common sense here,” Costas stated. “Much of this is ambiguous. We understand that some individuals who raise this issue harbor hostility towards trans individuals or those who, after careful consideration, decide to transition to live as their authentic selves. I believe that any empathetic person would support that. However, Sugar Ray Leonard did not fight Mike Tyson.
“They were contemporaries. Sugar Ray was a welterweight, while Mike was a heavyweight, alright? If someday the best player in the WNBA can compete in the NBA, everyone would applaud. But if the worst player on the worst NBA team’s bench went to the WNBA and averaged 40 points per game, everyone knows that’s nonsense.”
Bill Maher and Bob Costas were also joined by The Atlantic staff writer Caitlin Flanagan, who took a firm stance against justifying men competing against women under the guise of ‘trans rights.’
Flanagan passionately criticized the issue, openly stating that ‘trans female’ athletes are seeking an unfair advantage in women’s sports.

More and more Americans are concerned that the inclusion of transgender athletes may eventually lead to the disappearance of women’s sports.
She shared, “You know, these extreme cases, and it pains me that we have to discuss them so frequently because it forces us to say things that may be cruel or hurtful to some individuals. But women’s and girls’ sports were not created as separate entities from men’s and boys’ sports due to some arbitrary gendered notion like wearing pink or blue. They exist because of the significant biological differences between the sexes. That’s the reason.
“You don’t hear about any transgender male athletes on a Division 1 basketball team… it’s the transgender women who seem to be utilizing a natural advantage resulting from sex-linked traits…”
