The reason is straightforward: most customers in search of a high-quality compact sports coupe tend to gravitate towards the two-door versions of the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5 or the more recent Mercedes CLE, which replaced the shorter variants of the old C-Class and E-Class.
On the whole, the Lexus RCs that are found in Europe remain unaltered, without any modifications. However, there are a few exceptions, such as the one shown in the gallery above, which was customized by JMS Fahrzeugteile, a German tuner, to showcase its enhancements.
As can be observed from the images provided above, the modifications were kept to a minimum, which is why we appreciate this project. One significant upgrade, specifically the new alloy wheels, came from Barracuda. The wheels have dimensions of 8.5×20 inches at the front and 10×20 inches at the rear. They were fitted with 235/35 tires at the front and 265/30 tires at the rear, giving them a concave and deep concave appearance, respectively.
A Hyper Silver finish was selected for this new set of wheels, adding a striking contrast to the overall red aesthetic of the car. The center caps and brake calipers were painted red, with a few black accents scattered throughout. The final aftermarket modification made to this Lexus RC is a coilover suspension. KW’s Variant 3 lowers the body closer to the ground while still allowing space for the wheels within the wheel arches.
JMS Fahrzeugteile affirms that all accessories have received TUV certification, ensuring their compliance with road regulations. In Germany, the only version of the RC available for purchase is the track-focused RC F, equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine, with a starting price of €96,050 (equivalent to $103,478). In contrast, the pictured example is the 200t specification, powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, producing slightly over 240 horsepower.
In the United States, the base version of the 2024 Lexus RC 300, which shares the same engine as the aforementioned 200t with 241 hp, starts at $45,920. The RC 300 F Sport also utilizes this engine and has a starting price of $50,540. The RC 300 AWD and RC 300 F Sport AWD come with a 3.5L V6 engine producing 260 hp, priced from $48,610 and $52,830, respectively.
The RC 350 is equipped with a 3.5L engine generating 311 horsepower and is available with either RWD starting at $48,850 or AWD starting at $51,015. The RC 350 F Sport uses the same engine and is priced from $53,470 and $55,195 for the rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models, respectively. Lastly, the RC F boasts an impressive 472 horsepower and has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $68,295.
