The complete lineup for the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season-opening race in Qatar next month has been unveiled. The race will feature a grid of 37 cars, divided into two classes: Hypercar and LMGT3. Hypercar will have 19 cars, including Alpine’s A424, Lamborghini’s SC63, and Isotta Fraschini’s Tipo 6, which will make its global debut. The ‘wing-less’ Peugeot 9X8 will also participate in this race, but it is expected to be its final appearance before the 2024-spec model debuts in Round 2 at Imola. Cadillac Racing’s single V-Series.R will be driven by Sebastien Bourdais, Alex Lynn, and Earl Bamber. The Isotta Fraschini team had requested a name change to Isotta Fraschini Duqueine, but it was rejected by the WEC Committee. Isotta’s driver lineup includes Carl Wattana Bennett, Jean-Karl Vernay, and Antoine Serravalle. Proton Competition’s Porsche 963 will be driven by Neel Jani, Harry Tincknell, and Julien Andlauer. In the LMGT3 class, all 18 cars have confirmed their drivers, with United Autosports recently adding Josh Caygill to their roster. The Prologue (pre-season testing) will take place in Doha, Qatar, from February 24-25, followed by the season-opening Qatar 1812km race on March 1-2.
