The Ranger MS-RT is the outcome of the collaboration between Ford and its rally partner, M-Sport, so it boasts a sporty appearance from every perspective. The vehicle underwent a redesign at the front, drawing inspiration from the racing editions. The honeycomb grille is accompanied by the LED headlights and distinctive C-Clamp DLRs.
It rolls on 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with an anthracite finish, wrapped in low-profile, noise-reducing premium tires, and features flared wheel arches, which give it an additional width of 82 millimeters (3.2 inches) compared to other Ranger models. MS-RT has introduced gloss black mirror caps and door handles.
It is easily recognizable thanks to the MS-RT graphics. It has also undergone updates to the side sills, a spoiler at the rear of the cab, a rear ducktail spoiler, and a restyled bumper at the rear, which takes inspiration from motorsport and incorporates an air diffuser.
Ford and MS-RT have introduced unique seats with prominent bolstering, wrapped in hand-crafted black vegan leather and suede with contrasting blue stitching. The MS-RT badging is visible on the headrests. The vehicle is equipped with a new heated steering wheel, featuring a blue marker at the 12 o’clock position.
Ford’s SYNC 4 connectivity is provided through a 12-inch touchscreen mounted in the center console, ensuring seamless integration and entertainment.
The mid-size pickup truck sits 40 millimeters (1.6 inches) lower due to its specially tuned sports suspension. It also boasts a 40-millimeter wider track. MS-RT asserts that the new vehicle offers uncompromised performance.
Doctor James Kerr, Design and Engineering Director, states that these modifications on the standard Ford Ranger aim to give the pickup truck a commanding presence, which is appealing to customers.
The Ford Ranger MS-RT is equipped with Ford’s turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in its original configuration, delivering 238 horsepower (240 metric horsepower) and 443 pound-feet (600 Newton meters) of torque. Power and torque are managed by a ten-speed automatic transmission and the e4WD full-time four-wheel drive system, distributing them to all four corners.
The Ranger MS-RT has a payload capacity of 1 ton (2,204 pounds) and a towing capacity of 2.5 tons (7,716 pounds).
For European customers who find the Ranger unsuitable, they also have the option to order the Transit Custom MS-RT. Both models are available through Ford Pro dealers. The first customers can expect to receive their vehicles starting in mid-2024, with a choice of six available colors: two shades of grey, white, silver, black, and MS-RT Blue, the latter of which will be available from April onwards. This version is exclusively for the European market.
