The parent company of Red Bull, based in Austria, announced on Wednesday that the complaint against Horner, which he denied, had been dismissed following a comprehensive investigation carried out independently. The company stated that the report of the investigation will remain confidential.
During a press conference at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Brown, speaking on behalf of the FIA, emphasized the importance of transparency. He stated that the governing body has a responsibility to the sport and its fans to ensure that everything is fully disclosed. Brown believes that until this happens, there will continue to be speculation, which is detrimental to the sport.
Wolff, who has had a well-documented rivalry with Horner, also stressed the need for transparency. He stated that it is the duty of the organization to thoroughly investigate any allegations and then confirm that everything is in order. Only then can the sport move forward.
Horner briefly spoke to Sky Sports television, expressing his relief that the process is now over. He stated that his focus is on the upcoming grand prix and defending the team’s titles.
Following the investigation, key figures in the paddock and accredited journalists received an email containing a link to supposed evidence related to the case. The sender of the email remains anonymous.
In a subsequent statement, Horner declined to comment on the anonymous speculation. However, he reiterated his denial of the allegations and expressed his respect for the independent investigation. He stated that he fully cooperated throughout the process and that the complaint was ultimately dismissed. Horner remains fully committed to the start of the season. (Reporting by Abhishek Takle)
